Lucy Marinkovich

Congratulations to Lucy Marinkovich, recipient of a grant from the Yvonne A. M. Smith Charitable Trust to support her Master of Business Management at the University of Auckland.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the performing arts in New Zealand and internationally, Lucy Marinkovich is passionate about supporting artists, bringing people together and helping the arts sector thrive.

As Founder and Artistic Director of Borderline Arts Ensemble and Co-Chair of Arts Wellington, she brings creative ideas to life, leads teams, works with a wide range of people and advocates for the importance of the arts in our communities. Her experience has also given her a strong understanding of the challenges facing arts organisations and the importance of good leadership, planning and financial management.

She hopes to build on this experience through a Master of Business, with the goal of taking on senior leadership roles that help shape New Zealand’s arts and cultural future. She is particularly interested in creating more opportunities for artists, strengthening New Zealand’s cultural connections with the world and ensuring the arts remain an important part of our communities.

She is committed to using her experience and future learning to make a positive difference to the arts in New Zealand and to help create an environment where artists and communities can flourish.
